One of the most versatile dresses that you can casually flaunt are spring dresses.Because of their flexibility and ability to look good anywhere, the times and places that warrant wearing any of your spring dresses is fairly diverse. Spring dresses are good for sojourns shopping, visiting friends and visiting the beach. They are good as beach wear because they are easy to wear over the top of a swimsuit. Because the material is generally light you can just dry off and put on the dress and it will dry easily on the way home. They won’t hold sand in funny places because they are generally without pockets and they are loose fitting.

Spring dresses are perfect for shopping. Because of their light and comfortable nature, they are comfortable for walking around in. They are also casual without being too casual. You will look good with a minimum of effort – you might also opt to have a loose hairstyle in order to give out a casual ambience. Don’t feel like you have to accessorize heavily while wearing spring dresses. They are meant to be casual. If you go over the top on accessories such as jewelry or overly formal shoes than you may look over dressed. Spring dresses are meant to appear casual.

If you do wish to accessorize a little with any of your spring dresses, opt for casual jewelry and simple shoes to go with the dress. Try and focus on form over high fashion. Choose some simple earrings and a necklace that compliments the dress instead of turning the accessories into the show piece of what you are wearing. It is too easy to go overboard with accessories with casual wear and because of this you will end up looking like you are trying to over dress while using casual wear. That said; try to steer clear of shoes such as sneakers or boots when wearing spring dresses.

Pants are good during the cooler months and shorts are good during the warmer months. However, they are nowhere near as versatile as a spring dresses as the weather starts warming up. Spring dresses are designed to keep you cool when the weather starts changing for the better. Although some women opt for shorts because they feel a little more comfortable wearing them, spring dresses are ideal because they give the wearer a great deal more comfort. It may just be for personal reasons, but I dislike wearing shorts because they feel too limited and stifling. Spring dresses are breezy and casual while still giving me the look I feel comfortable with.

Shorts seem cheap. Before you take offense, let me explain. Short shorts have a tendency to ride your nether regions to the point of chaffing. They also show a little too much leg. Knee length shorts are slightly better but they still have a tendency to chafe a little. Spring dresses combat this problem and make it a non-issue. A spring dress can also be worn at nearly any occasion. Depending on the style, they can even be worn to work in a busy office environment without fear of reprisal from your boss – however, I would wear something a little more formal in the event I had an important meeting.

So for me, the winner is spring dresses. I happily wear shorts if I am bumming around the house or doing some cleaning. I don’t like wearing them out however. Again, it is probably a personal thing so don’t take what I am saying as gospel. To me shorts seem too casual for wearing somewhere other than the home. Shorts may also be a better option when you want a little protection from creepy crawlies; for example, when you go camping.

Spring dresses seem to be moving away from standard casual wear and into the realms of high fashion. My personal opinion is somewhat against this as spring dresses are all about easy to wear and casual attire that is comfortable for a wide variety of occasions. Many of the spring dresses that relate to recent fashion updates seem overly formal and do not look like the really fit the niche of what spring dresses are. Spring dresses have recently started looking a lot more like cocktail or semi-formal wear. Designers are trying to put more bells and whistles into the dress than they should be.

A common trend in the design of spring dresses recently has been the addition of closed shoulders. Instead of a nice open neck dress that uses straps over the shoulder, there seems to be more sleeves. This seems like a terrible way to go. Spring dresses are getting too formal. You were able to wear spring dresses from the start of spring and all through summer without drastically changing your wardrobe. I can’t help but feel that the new trend of spring dresses that are released are going to be too warm or uncomfortable as summer fades in.

They also appear to be made of a heavier material than previously. Although there does seem to be a few spring dresses released that are loose fitting and with a light material – many seem too heavy. Many of them also have a long hem line instead of cutting off around the knee; they are nearly ankle length. In order to remain cool as the weather heats up you really do want something that cuts off around the knee – if it is too cold for a spring dress or spring is slow to warm up you can always wear a pair of tights underneath the dress. It is hard to really understand how this current trend has come about.

Spring dresses are a beautiful compromise between high fashion and casual wear. I prefer something sleeveless as well because spring in my part of the world is on par with summer. Because spring dress fashion doesn’t really change much from year to year it doesn’t matter if the dress is a few years old (so long as it is in good condition).

Spring dresses are not limited to women with a certain body type. They are the ultimate in non-discriminate dress wear. Because they are generally loose fitting and breezy; anyone can wear them without fear of looking out of place. The only real thing you will need to be aware of is the color of the dress. If the dress is a color that doesn’t suit you then you might want to consider shopping around a little more. They are also not unique and are produced en masse for the retail market, so you may be able to find the same dress in a different color.
